The La Flor Dominicana Reserva Especial Gran Robusto delivers a rich, elegant take on one of LFD’s most beloved blends. Measuring a generous 5.75 x 52, this cigar features a beautifully smooth Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper paired with estate-grown Dominican filler and binder tobaccos. The result is a medium-bodied profile brimming with cream, cedar, toasted bread, light spice, and a touch of honeyed sweetness. Despite being wrapped in a Connecticut leaf, the Gran Robusto offers impressive depth, making it an ideal choice for smokers who enjoy refinement without sacrificing flavor.
La Flor Dominicana is renowned for its Dominican-grown tobaccos, meticulous craftsmanship, and bold innovation. Founded by Litto and Ines Gomez in 1996, the brand evolved from boutique newcomer to industry powerhouse by emphasizing vertical integration—growing its own tobacco, managing its own production, and crafting blends that quickly became modern classics. The Reserva Especial line reflects LFD’s earlier blending philosophy of smooth, complex, and beautifully balanced cigars, highlighting the company’s deep roots in Dominican agriculture and artistry.
The Gran Robusto vitola takes full advantage of the blend’s richness. With its slightly larger ring gauge, the cigar delivers a cool, even burn and abundant smoke output, allowing the flavors to unfold gradually. A creamy opening transitions into notes of wheat, oak, soft pepper, and subtle citrus, with a finish that remains clean and satisfying throughout the entire smoke. Construction is consistently excellent, showcasing LFD’s reputation for precision rolling and quality control.
Ideal for both newer enthusiasts and long-time LFD fans, the Reserva Especial Gran Robusto is a standout offering—a smooth, complex cigar that captures the elegance of the line and the heritage of a brand built on passion, quality, and Dominican tradition. Pair it with coffee, mild whiskey, or a relaxing afternoon, and it will reward you with a deeply enjoyable smoking experience.
