Produced in the heart of Tuscany, Italy, within the Rosso di Montepulciano appellation, this wine is a testament to the storied heritage of the Marchesi Antinori family, who acquired the La Braccesca estate in 1990. The winery spans over 1,250 acres across Montepulciano and Cortona, focusing on a philosophy that balances the historical tradition of the region with modern winemaking techniques.
Wine Description
Sabazio presents a vibrant ruby red colour and opens with an expressive bouquet of fresh red fruits, notably cherries and raspberries, complemented by floral hints of violets and subtle balsamic sensations. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and smooth, featuring a juicy, crunchy core supported by silky tannins and a bright acidity that lends a refreshing character. The finish is persistent and savoury, echoing the fruity and floral notes found on the nose.
Food Pairing
This wine serves as an ideal companion for Tuscan-style cured meats, pasta with meat sauce, or herb-roasted chicken. For a more adventurous pairing, try it with stuffed bell peppers or veal liver with balsamic vinegar, as these dishes beautifully enhance the wine's vibrant fruit and acidity.
