Kavalan Solist Virgin Oak Team Canada R is an ultra-premium, single-cask-strength single malt whisky produced by King Car Kavalan Distillery in Yilan County, Taiwan. This specific bottling represents an exclusive private single-cask selection curated directly for the Canadian market ("Team Canada"), with the "R" designating the specific barrel allocation in the release. Matured in a new, unaged virgin oak cask under Yilan's intense subtropical climate, the accelerated interaction between wood and spirit develops remarkable depth. It presents a rich, indulgent profile balancing sweet tropical fruits, honey, beeswax, and warm oak spices unique to this cask.
Food Pairing: Roasted pork belly, prime rib steak, dark chocolate tarts, dried fruits, or strong aged cheeses like stilton.
Tasting Notes : Deep black cherry and soft treacle appearance with a rich, full-bodied, and velvety texture on the palate.
Nose : Smoked plum, purple grapes, buttery vanilla, rich beeswax, subtle floral notes, apricot, and honeyed peach.
Palate : Full-bodied and indulgent with subtle oak spice, sweet honey, autumn pear, roasted chestnuts, ripe guava, and warming cinnamon.
Finish : Long, rich, and enduring with lingering notes of ripened tropical fruit, sweet oak spice, and cinnamon warmth.
Serve : Serve neat at room temperature in a Glencairn glass, or with a few drops of pure water to open the complex aromatic fruit and spice layers.
