Kauai Coffee Koloa Estate Medium Roast Decaf is a 24 oz bag of whole Arabica beans roasted to deliver a smooth, island-inspired cup with bright aroma and light floral notes.
Harvested on Hawaii’s largest coffee estate, these decaffeinated whole beans bring volcanic-soil richness and Pacific-breeze character to your grinder. The medium roast balances gentle acidity and mellow sweetness so you can tailor grind and brew to espresso machines, pour-over cones, or drip coffeemakers. Packaged to preserve freshness, this 24 oz bag is aimed at home baristas and gift-givers who want a true Hawaiian coffee experience without the caffeine.
What flavor profile should I expect from Kauai Coffee decaf whole beans?
The Koloa Estate medium roast decaf emphasizes a clean, non-bitter cup with subtle floral accents and a bright, lively aroma. Roasting brings out rounded sweetness while preserving delicate island characteristics, making it approachable across brewing styles.
- Notes: light floral highlights and mild fruit sweetness.
- Body: medium with a smooth finish and low bitterness.
- Aroma: bright, fragrant—suitable for morning or dessert pairings.
How should I grind and brew the 24 oz whole bean bag for best results?
Because these beans are whole, grind size determines extraction. Use finer grinds for espresso, medium-fine for pour-over, and coarser for French press; adjust to taste and machine. Freshly ground beans maximize the nuanced aromas native to Hawaiian-grown coffee.
- Espresso: fine grind, 18–20 seconds extraction for concentrated crema.
- Pour-over: medium grind, steady pour to highlight floral notes.
- French press: coarse grind, 4-minute steep for fuller body.
Why choose Kauai Coffee’s decaf whole beans over other decaffeinated coffees?
Kauai Coffee sources beans from its Koloa Estate and decaffeinates while maintaining flavor integrity, so you get island terroir without caffeine. The farm’s volcanic soils and ocean-influenced climate contribute unique characteristics not typical of mass-market decafs.
- Estate-grown Arabica from Kauai’s largest coffee farm.
- Careful decaffeination and medium roast to retain taste nuances.
- Whole-bean format for peak freshness when ground just before brewing.
How is freshness preserved in a 24 oz Kauai Coffee bag?
Packaging and roast timing play a big role: these whole beans are sealed to limit air exposure and maintain aromatic oils until you open the bag. Buy smaller quantities if you drink infrequently, but the 24 oz size suits households or regular coffee drinkers who prefer grinding at home.
- Resealable bag design to slow oxidation after opening.
- Whole bean format protects delicate compounds until grinding.
- Recommended to store in a cool, dark place for best longevity.
