This structured and aristocratic red wine originates from Argentina, within the prestigious Agrelo sub-appellation of Luj'e1n de Cuyo in Mendoza. Produced by Kaiken, an estate established in 2002 by legendary Chilean winemaker 'c1ureo Montes to explore the exceptional terroir across the Andes, the 'Indomito' series highlights an adventurous, fresh, and uninhibited expression of high altitude Argentine varietals. Sourced from estate vineyards rooted in deep alluvial soils with gravel and limestone deposits, the vines benefit from a intense mountain climate. Hot, sun-drenched days are balanced by cold night winds descending off the Andes, enabling Cabernet Franc to achieve complete phenolic maturity while retaining high natural acidity and vibrant aromatic clarity.
Wine Description
The Kaiken Indomito Cabernet Franc presents a deep ruby red colour in the glass with vivid purple and violet reflections along the rim. Its sensory profile is exceptionally fresh, high toned, and fruit forward, delivering an energetic, precise, and approachable portrait of Agrelo terroir. The bouquet opens with a soaring display of crushed tart black cherries, fresh red plums, and cassis, seamlessly layered with complex underlays of fresh red paprika, roasted red pepper, dried violets, graphite, and a subtle line of herbal freshness. On the palate, the wine is medium to full bodied, sleek, and supple, showcasing a succulent core of dark berry fruit, blood orange zest, and sweet spices. It is characterized by its outstanding inner energy and an incisive, mouthwatering backbone of natural acidity that effortlessly lifts its mid palate weight. The mouthfeel is broad, weightless, and silky, framed by soft, rounded tannins that glide into a long, dry, and clean finish accented by persistent notes of crushed stone, herbal spice, and dark cocoa.
