Privada Storytelling
Raíces de Jacagua translates to roots, and that is exactly what this cigar represents.
Jopito Cigars was built around honoring Dominican heritage, specifically the Jacagua region, one of the oldest tobacco growing areas in the country. This is not a brand chasing modern hype. It is grounded in tradition, family, and a connection to land that predates most of the cigars on today’s shelves.
Produced at Tabacalera Palma, a factory known for preserving old world Dominican techniques, this toro leans into balance rather than strength. The Ecuadorian Habano wrapper adds structure and subtle spice, while the Dominican core keeps the profile smooth and composed.
This is a cigar that reflects where it comes from without trying to reinvent it.
Flavor Journey
The opening delivers cedar and toasted nuts with a soft creamy texture. As the cigar develops, light spice and earth begin to build, supported by a subtle natural sweetness.
Midway, the profile settles into a balanced rhythm, with cream and cedar holding the core while the spice stays present but controlled. The final third finishes clean, with lingering earth, nuts, and soft sweetness.
Why It Belongs in Privada
Because this is a cigar built on heritage, not noise.
Raíces de Jacagua offers a look into Dominican tobacco through a traditional lens. It is steady, consistent, and honest in its delivery. That kind of clarity is exactly what Privada values.
Production Notes
Handmade at Tabacalera Palma in the Dominican Republic using Dominican tobaccos and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Rolled for consistency and balance across the 6 x 52 format.
