Jean-Paul et Charly Thévenet Régnié Grain & Granit 2021 is a natural Beaujolais wine produced by the father and son team in the Régnié appellation. The grapes come from a 3-hectare parcel of vines planted in 1932 and 1946. The soil is composed of decomposing granite, which imparts a distinctive minerality to the wine. The wine undergoes whole-cluster fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in concrete tanks. It is bottled without fining or filtration. The 2021 Régnié Grain & Granit is noted for its bright red fruit flavors, including cherry and strawberry, complemented by spicy and earthy undertones. The wine is light-bodied with fine, stony tannins and a refreshing acidity that makes it exceptionally drinkable. Its lively and vibrant character is reminiscent of a Pinot Noir, with a long finish that lingers on the palate.
