Jameson Limited Edition 18 Year Irish Whiskey is a rare release that showcases extended maturation and careful cask selection. Distilled in Ireland using the house’s signature triple‑distillation method, this expression spends at least 18 years in oak, first in oloroso sherry casks and then finished in bourbon wood, before bottling, a process that softens spirit edges while allowing slow, complex extraction from the wood.
On the nose, ripe apple and pear sit alongside dried apricot and fig. You also get a gentle nuttiness - think hazelnut and marzipan. There’s even a subtle sherry‑influenced sweetness from its time in oloroso casks. On the palate, the whiskey is silkier than younger Jameson expressions. Flavors evolve from honeyed cereal and crème brûlée to spiced orange, cinnamon, and clove; a late arrival of dark chocolate and leather gives the finish an almost savory complexity. The mouthfeel is medium‑to‑full, warming but balanced, with a long, dry finish that recalls toasted oak, lingering spice, and a final echo of orchard fruit.
We know Jameson Limited Edition 18 Year Irish Whiskey is good - but many (and we mean many) agree with us wholeheartedly! Judges at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition gave it a Double Gold medal in 2011, and seasoned whiskey drinkers keep reaching for it whenever an occasion calls for something special… Oh, and it has kept that reputation ever since.
This bottle suits the whiskey enthusiast who values time and subtlety over raw power. This aged bottle demands you to slow down and appreciate - and, boy, we do.
