The J. Lohr South Ridge Syrah is a celebrated red wine from the Paso Robles region in California, United States. Founded in 1974 by Jerry Lohr, this family owned and operated winery has spent over five decades focusing on a sustainable, 'stewardship of the land' philosophy. Today, the second generation of the Lohr family continues this legacy, managing thousands of acres of estate vineyards across the Central Coast to produce wines known for their consistency and quality.
Wine Description
In the glass, the wine presents a deep, dense colour with vibrant purple hues. The sensory profile is led by varietal aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and anise, which are lifted by notes of black tea and a hint of floral lilac. On the palate, the wine is bold yet smooth, featuring flavours of blackberry, chocolate, and toasted oak. It displays a lean structure with a touch of white pepper and baking spice on the finish.
