J. Lohr Estates Falcon's Perch Pinot Noir 2015 is a red wine from Monterey County, California, made by the family-owned J. Lohr winery. The name honors a small raptor that nested in a lone pine tree among the vines. Browse more from the J. Lohr winery.
J. Lohr notes that a pinch of red pepper spice sets off this vintage. The winery expected the tannins to soften during the first year in bottle while a more aromatic bouquet developed, and it placed the best drinking window between 2016 and 2018, so this bottle is now well past that predicted peak.
The winery suggests Maryland crab cakes seasoned with Old Bay. It suits curious collectors of Pinot Noir bottles who enjoy aged wine.
