Varietal: White Wine Blend Region: Mendocino, California Winemakers: McFadden Vineyard ABV: 13.6%
Mendocino County is among the world's most exciting white wine regions, championing a return to sustainable farming practices that produce some of California's best white wine. Isela is a hand-picked 100% organic white wine blend, made from varietals that thrive in Mendocino's unique coastal microclimate. Lush with aromas of lychee and rose petal, Isela is a bright white wine blend given complexity by notes of spice and candied ginger.
REGION:
Mendocino County has an ideal climate for white wines, with greater day-night temperature variation than any of the surrounding areas. The hot days ripen the grapes, while cool nights preserve their acidity, resulting in fruit that retains a strong but refined character.
WINEMAKERS:
McFadden Vineyard, a member of California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), has produced multiple 90-point wines in recent years. McFadden Vineyard has been organic since its founding, assuring that at no time were any chemical fertilizers or pesticides ever used in the production of the grapes in their wines.
TASTING NOTES:
Isela is a lush and fruit forward white wine, opening with floral aromas of rose and honeysuckle, paired with spicy notes of candied ginger and white pepper. Citrus flavors of tangerine and pink grapefruit shine through, yet Isela remains dry and crisp, with beautiful texture and a crisp finish.
