- Primary tasting notes: cocoa and dried fruit
- Roast profile: dark, full-bodied finish
- Bean composition: 100% carefully selected Arabica
- Best served as: lungo, espresso, or in milk drinks
How do these illy capsules fit my coffee machine and daily routine?
These aluminium capsules are made for Nespresso Original machines (except models U, Umilk, Expert, Expert&Milk, Prodigio and Prodigio&Milk after July 25, 2016). They are single-serve and pre-dosed, so brewing is fast and consistent — ideal for busy mornings or controlled portioning throughout the day.
- Compatibility: Nespresso Original line (see exclusions)
- Serving size: pre-measured for consistent lungo shots
- Convenience: quick, low-prep brewing
- Packaging: 10 capsules per box for moderate consumption
What sustainability and quality practices are behind these pods?
illy emphasizes long-term relationships with growers and selects only the top fraction of Arabica beans to maintain consistent quality. The aluminium capsule and pressurization method protect flavours and reduce the need for added preservatives, while the brand supports sustainable farming and socio-economic development in coffee-producing regions.
- Bean sourcing from over 30 countries with grower partnerships
- Selection: top 1% of Arabica beans to reduce defects
- Preservation: patented pressurized aluminium cans to lock aroma
- Company focus: initiatives for environmental and community wellbeing
How should I brew and enjoy an Intenso Lungo for best results?
Use the lungo setting on your Nespresso Original machine to extract a fuller cup that highlights the blend's cocoa and dried-fruit character. For milk drinks, steam or froth milk to preference; the dark roast holds flavor well against milk and sweeteners.
- Lungo brew recommended for balanced extraction
- Use filtered water for a cleaner cup
- Try with steamed milk for a robust cappuccino or latte
- Store capsules in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
This Illy Intenso Lungo 10-count box is for coffee lovers who want a ready-to-brew, bar-style dark roast at home without complicated setup. It suits those who value consistent single-serve portions, recognizable Italian blend character, and growers-focused sourcing. Choose these capsules if you have a compatible Nespresso Original machine and prefer a bold lungo with cocoa and dried-fruit notes.
