From Italy’s celebrated Tuscany region, Pian di Nova is produced by Il Borro, a prestigious estate near San Giustino Valdarno in the province of Arezzo. Owned by the Ferragamo family since 1993, the estate has become a symbol of Tuscan excellence, merging a centuries-old winemaking tradition with modern sustainability and craftsmanship.
Wine Description
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour with violet reflections. The nose is expressive with notes of ripe red berries, violets, and a hint of spice such as black pepper and cardamom. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, offering juicy cherry and blackberry flavours layered with subtle nutmeg and pimento. The tannins are soft and velvety, while a bright acidity brings freshness and balance.
Food Pairing
This wine’s supple tannins and spice make it a versatile partner for a variety of dishes. Pair with roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, wild boar ragù, or aged Pecorino cheese. It also complements spiced cuisines such as Indian lamb curry.
