Privada Storytelling
When you smoke HVC, you’re not just lighting a cigar—you’re tapping into Havana roots and Nicaraguan brilliance. Reinier Lorenzo, the man behind HVC, is a Havana-born visionary who once worked in a science lab before dedicating his life to the leaf. With the voice of a dictator and the heart of a true craftsman, Reinier has built a reputation for blending cigars full of body, aroma, and authenticity.
This PCC Exclusive 2019 represents his second attempt at the perfect Privada cigar. The first blend he sent was so powerful it risked overwhelming some members. When asked for more balance without losing its punch, he came back with this masterpiece. What you’re smoking now is the refinement of that first attempt, and the result is extraordinary.
But here’s the kicker: the rare Maduro Ligero tobacco used in this blend is notoriously difficult to grow and nearly impossible to procure in quantity. That means what you hold in your hands is one of the few cigars of its kind. Originally ordered when the club was smaller, not every member got one in their box—but those who did, and those who still can, know this is a once-in-a-blue-moon experience.
Flavor Journey
First Third: Leather, cream, roasted peanuts, and pepper define the opening. Notes of espresso and dried herbs weave through a creamy, balanced smoke.
Second Third: Sharp cedar arrives on the retrohale, joined by toasted coconut, white pepper, and leather. A sweetness develops, reminiscent of agave syrup, coating the tongue with richness and depth.
Final Third: The cigar crescendos with agave syrup sweetness, dried thyme, citrus zest, vanilla, and lemon. Leather remains steady as the profile closes with balance, finesse, and lingering complexity.
Why It Belongs in Privada
The HVC PCC Exclusive is the definition of what Privada stands for: rarity, authenticity, and storytelling. Reinier Lorenzo gave us not just a cigar, but a glimpse into his evolving artistry. With rare Maduro Ligero tobacco at its core, this cigar is unrepeatable. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. For collectors, for smokers, for believers in the craft—this is one to treasure.
