Crafted in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, at the iconic Destilería La Perserverancia, Hornitos Cucumber Habanero is a flavored tequila spirit based on 100% Weber Blue Agave Plata Tequila. Harvested from mature agave, the piñas are cooked in steam autoclaves, crushed in roller mills, and double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills. The clean, crisp base tequila is infused with natural cucumber essence and spicy habanero pepper flavors. Designed for modern cocktail creation, this expression balances cooling green cucumber freshiness with a spicy habanero kick while maintaining a classic background of roasted agave.
Food Pairing: Spicy mango ceviche, fish tacos with cilantro-lime crema, grilled shrimp skewers, spicy pork carnitas, fresh guacamole with tortilla chips, or grilled pineapple.
Tasting Notes: Crystal clear in appearance with pale green reflections, medium clarity, and smooth, light-to-medium legs.
Nose: Vibrant and spicy, opening with crisp, cool peeled cucumber and bright lime zest, supported by sharp habanero pepper spice, subtle green floral notes, and a base of sweet cooked agave.
Palate: Clean, refreshing, and spicy on the palate, featuring crisp green cucumber water upfront before unfolding into layers of sweet roasted agave, bright citrus, and a building wave of prickly habanero heat.
Finish: Medium-long, clean, and warm with lingering notes of cool cucumber skin, zesty lime, and a persistent, lively habanero spice kick.
Serve: Serve over large ice cubes with a splash of soda water and a slice of fresh cucumber or jalapeño, shot chilled, or as an instant spicy-cooling base for a Spicy Cucumber Margarita, Paloma, or Ranch Water.
