Holzer Original Cacao (Fernet, Robust Bitter) is a specialty artisanal herbal liqueur crafted by Raphael Holzer, created through a collaboration between Fernet Hunter and craft chocolate maker Fu Wan Chocolate. Infused with roasted cocoa nibs alongside wild alpine botanicals including arnica, lavender, orris root, and chamomile, it combines rich chocolate depth with crisp, aromatic herbal bitterness.
Food Pairing: Dark chocolate desserts, tiramisu, roasted venison, aged manchego cheese, or chocolate truffles.
Tasting Notes : Rich golden-amber with a smooth, medium-bodied, and rounded mouthfeel.
Nose : Rich roasted cocoa, aromatic lavender, subtle dried arnica, chamomile flowers, and warm citrus peel.
Palate : Complex and balanced with initial notes of dark roasted chocolate and bitter cocoa, giving way to floral herbs, earthy roots, and gentle spice.
Finish : Long, dry, and warm with lingering dark cocoa, subtle floral bitterness, and soft wood spice.
Serve : Serve chilled neat, over ice, mixed with soda water, or as a rich modifier in classic cocktails.
