High Coast American Oak is an early Swedish single malt originally released under the distillery’s former box name. Distilled in 2011 and matured first in first-fill bourbon quarter casks before an eight-month finish in virgin American oak, it was bottled at 50.8% ABV. The new oak brings pronounced spice and coconut alongside peat smoke, vanilla, sweet honey and oak.
Food Pairing: Smoked pork, grilled steak, aged cheddar, roasted nuts, honey-glazed dishes, or vanilla and coconut desserts.
Tasting Notes: Rich and smoky, combining peat with coconut, vanilla and sweet honey alongside assertive American oak spice and gentle fruit.
Nose: Pronounced peat smoke and spice mingle with coconut, vanilla and sweet oak.
Palate: Rich and layered, with vanilla, sweet honey and smoky malt supported by spicy new American oak.
Finish: Medium and warming, with lingering peat, vanilla, honey and toasted oak spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat or with a few drops of water to open the peat smoke, vanilla and American-oak character.
