Island Sunset by HAWAIIAN ISLES COFFEE ROASTERS CO. is an 8‑ounce dark roast ground coffee that delivers a bold, smooth cup inspired by Hawaiian flavors.
Crafted from carefully selected Arabica beans and roasted in Hawaii, this ground dark roast is designed for people who want a robust coffee with island character without the fuss of whole‑bean grinding. The 8‑ounce vacuum‑sealed bag locks in freshness so you can enjoy consistent aroma and flavor from the first scoop to the last.
What flavor profile should I expect from Island Sunset?
Island Sunset leans into dark roast strength with smoothing notes that keep the cup balanced rather than harsh. Expect bold cocoa and roasted caramel tones with low acidity and a lingering, slightly sweet finish.
- Dark roast emphasis: rich, roasted character
- Flavor notes: cocoa, caramelized sugar, subtle nuttiness
- Acidity: low, for a mellow finish
- Mouthfeel: medium to full body, smooth texture
How should I brew this ground coffee for the best results?
Because Island Sunset comes pre‑ground, choose a brew method that uses medium‑coarse to fine grounds depending on the device. It performs well in drip machines, pour‑over, and French press—adjusting grind size and brew time refines extraction and strength.
- Drip coffee maker: use standard medium grind and a 1:15–1:17 coffee‑to‑water ratio
- French press: use coarser grind and steep 3–4 minutes for fuller body
- Pour‑over: medium‑fine grind with controlled pour for clarity
- Espresso machines: not recommended—ground size may be too coarse
How does the packaging preserve freshness and convenience?
The coffee is roasted in Hawaii and immediately vacuum sealed in an 8‑ounce bag to maintain aroma and keep oils intact. The compact size makes it easy to store or travel with, while vacuum packaging minimizes exposure to air that causes staling.
- Vacuum‑sealed bag keeps roast aromas locked in
- 8‑ounce portion is ideal for sampling or single‑household use
- Resealable packaging recommended after opening for best storage
- Lightweight bag convenient for travel or gifting
