Old Bourbon County Single Barrel is a cask-strength, wheated Kentucky Straight Bourbon produced by Hartfield & Co. in Bourbon County, Kentucky. Each release comes from an individual 53-gallon barrel and is bottled uncut and unfiltered, so the exact proof varies by barrel.
Food Pairing: Pairs well with smoked brisket, grilled steak, barbecue pork, aged cheddar, candied pecans, apple pie and crème brûlée.
Tasting Notes: A full-bodied, cask-strength bourbon combining pronounced sweetness with warming spice and fruit.
Nose: Sweet candy and rich caramel.
Palate: Caramel develops into candied apple and cinnamon, accompanied by the additional warmth and spice of the higher proof.
Finish: Lingering but relatively light, with sweet apricot and warming spice.
Serve: Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water. A large ice cube can soften the cask-strength intensity.
