The Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels Linkwood 2001 (Cask #17603603) is a refined and classically styled Speyside single malt that highlights the elegant, floral character of the Linkwood distillery. Distilled in 2001 and matured for over two decades in a First-Fill Sherry Butt, this specific bottling was released as part of the prestigious "Distillery Labels" range. It offers a sophisticated bouquet of ripe orchard fruits, vanilla pod, and honeyed cereal, layered with the rich, spicy influence of the Sherry wood, such as dried figs and cinnamon. On the palate, the whisky is smooth and medium-bodied, showcasing flavors of stewed apples, milk chocolate, and roasted hazelnuts. The finish is long and balanced, with a delicate touch of oak tannin and a lingering, sweet maltiness.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with rich, savory dishes like roasted duck with a cherry reduction, venison medallions, or glazed pork belly. For dessert, it beautifully complements spiced fruitcake, sticky toffee pudding, dark chocolate truffles, or a curated board of mature hard cheeses such as aged cheddar, Comté, and Manchego.
