This robust red wine originates from the Lodi AVA in California's Central Valley. Gnarled Vine is a label produced by Oak Ridge Winery, the oldest operating winery in Lodi, which has been owned by the Maggio and Reynolds families for five generations. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes the unique characteristics of Lodi’s "gnarled" old vines, which produce lower yields of highly concentrated fruit. The estate is committed to environmental stewardship, with its vineyards being Certified Green under the Lodi Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing.
Wine Description
The Gnarled Vine Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold, fruit-forward wine with a deep ruby red colour. The sensory profile is dominated by intense aromas of blackberry jam, plum, and cassis, complemented by nuanced notes of vanilla, cedar, and mocha chocolate derived from oak aging. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and voluptuous, offering a rich core of dark berry fruit balanced by a firm acidic backbone and supple, well-integrated tannins.
