This single‑cask single malt originates from Scotland’s Speyside region, operated by the fifth‑generation Grant family, who have maintained an unbroken tradition of family ownership since 1865. The Glenfarclas distillery, founded in 1836, is renowned for its independence and its signature age‑worthy, sherry‑influenced whiskies.
Description
On the nose, expect fresh golden sultanas, blossom honey, orange zest, vanilla tablet, polished oak and a hint of cocoa dust. The palate delivers silky toffee‑apple, malted biscuit and ripe plum, with nuances of cinnamon‑spiked chocolate, roasted almond and candied citrus. The medium‑long finish is warming and subtly drying, with lingering sherry‑soaked fruitcake, soft oak tannin, and a final flourish of vanilla‑malt sweetness.
Food Pairing
Pair with a rich Christmas‑fruit cake to accentuate the cinnamon and dried‑fruit notes; or try crème brûlée, which complements the honey‑vanilla sweetness and polished oak. Together, they create an unforgettable dining experience.
