Privada Storytelling
Some cigars are made to stand alone. Others, like the Gilligan Golf Churchill Original, are meant to be the foundation of an entire lifestyle. Born from three generations of a family steeped in both golf and cigars, Gilligan Golf decided to launch not with apparel, equipment, or merch—but with a cigar. Bold. Confident. Certain that great things can only grow from great tobacco.
When I was first introduced to the project, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Another golf brand? Another lifestyle angle? But then I smoked it. I’m not a golfer myself, but immediately I could see it—the perfect cigar for the course. Steady burn. Balanced flavor. A richness that keeps you focused and a complexity that rewards every pause between swings. The family behind Gilligan Golf wasn’t interested in shortcuts. They worked for years to ensure consistency and enjoyment, the kind of cigar that could define a brand. And with the Churchill Original, they’ve done it.
Flavor Journey
-
First Third: Peanut butter richness mingles with black pepper, cedar, cream, and cocoa butter. Accents of hay, berry tea, and a surprising banana mofongo note create intrigue.
-
Second Third: The cigar smooths into cedar, white pepper, cream, and a delicate dried pear sweetness. Balanced, velvety, and refined.
-
Final Third: The finale is golden and complex—golden raisins, strong white pepper, cream, oak, golden cereal, graham, agave, wheat bread, florals like white jasmine, and fruit tea. A crescendo of richness with tannic grip and lingering cedar.
Why It Belongs in Privada
The Gilligan Golf Churchill Original isn’t just a cigar—it’s a mission statement. A family declaring that true lifestyle brands begin with authenticity, and nothing is more authentic than tobacco aged, tested, and perfected for the long game. This stick doesn’t just smoke well—it represents dedication, tradition, and vision.
