What makes this hot cocoa "double chocolate"?
The Double Chocolate mix combines cocoa powder with real chocolate pieces and sugar to create a deeper chocolate profile than standard cocoa mixes. Vanilla adds aroma and rounds the taste for a smoother finish.
- Blend of cocoa powder plus real chocolate for intensified chocolate notes
- Balanced sweetness—measured sugar to highlight cocoa rather than mask it
- Vanilla included to enhance aroma and mouthfeel
How easy is it to prepare a cup?
Preparation is straightforward: empty one 0.85 oz packet into a mug, add hot water or milk, and stir until combined. Using milk yields a richer, creamier cup while hot water keeps calories lower and still delivers full flavor.
- One packet per 8–10 oz hot water or milk
- Heat liquid first for faster dissolving and smoother texture
- Stir vigorously for about 20–30 seconds; use a whisk or frother for extra creaminess
Where and when can I use these packets?
Single-serve packets are designed for flexible use at home, the office, travel, or outdoor activities. Because they’re individually wrapped, you can toss a few in a bag, keep some at work, or use them for portion control and minimal cleanup.
- Ideal for travel, camping, or hotel stays where appliances are limited
- Handy for office breaks or in a pantry for spontaneous dessert drinks
- Packable for school events, movie nights, or after-dinner treats
Is this product suitable for special diets or storage concerns?
Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Hot Cocoa Mix is labeled Kosher Dairy, which helps those following kosher dietary guidelines. The packets are shelf-stable and resealable only in the sense that each serving is sealed individually—store in a cool, dry place for best quality.
- Kosher Dairy certified—check packaging for certification symbol
- Individually sealed packets preserve freshness until opened
- Store away from heat and moisture to maintain flavor and texture
