Garrison Brothers Single Barrel Cask Strength (135.6 Proof) is a massive, incredibly robust expression from the first legal bourbon distillery in Texas. Located in Hye, Texas, Garrison Brothers is famous for their unique terroir—the scorching Texas climate causes the whiskey to interact aggressively with the oak barrels, resulting in rapid maturation and an extraction level that rivals bourbons twice its age.
Because it is a single-barrel offering, no two barrels are exactly alike, but at this high proof, you can expect an unapologetically bold, viscous, and chewy mouthfeel. The nose is typically packed with heavy molasses, old leather, roasted pecans, and charred oak. On the palate, it delivers an intensely concentrated wave of dark chocolate, brown sugar, clove, and tobacco leaf, finishing exceptionally long with deep, warming spice and rich, sweet oak tannin.
