From Italy’s renowned Piedmont region, this wine hails specifically from the Asti area, the traditional home of the Freisa grape. Frasca La Guaragna is a family-run estate with deep roots in the region, dedicated to expressing Piedmont’s heritage through sustainable viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking. Their philosophy focuses on elegance, authenticity, and letting native varietals shine.
Wine Description
This Freisa d’Asti pours a vibrant ruby red with purple highlights. On the nose, it offers an inviting bouquet of wild berries, violets, and hints of herbs. The palate reveals juicy redcurrant, mulberry, and blackberry, balanced by lively acidity and subtle notes of black tea and earth. Medium in body with fine, slightly rustic tannins, it finishes with freshness and a lingering mineral edge.
Food Pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as tajarin pasta with meat ragù, roasted game birds, or braised rabbit. It also complements mushroom risotto or aged cheeses like Castelmagno.
