Frank Cornelissen MunJebel Rosso CR is a red wine made entirely from Nerello Mascalese sourced from the Contrada Campo Re vineyard on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. The partly ungrafted vineyard sits at 735 meters above sea level on the far western side of the valley floor at the entrance of Randazzo, with vines averaging over 70 years of age. The deep soils make ripe fruit difficult to obtain in humid vintages, producing wines that are profound and tannic. Fermentation uses indigenous yeasts with roughly 50 days of skin contact, after which the wine ages in neutral epoxy tanks.
