Foxbury Fields Bacchus
A fresh, vibrant white wine from the heart of the English countryside. This dry Bacchus is made from grapes grown at Foxbury Fields Vineyard. The Bacchus variety, originally bred in Germany in 1933, has found a natural home in the cooler English climate. The result is a refined white wine that balances ripe aromatics with crisp acidity, offering a uniquely British interpretation of this increasingly popular grape.
Foxbury Fields Bacchus expresses the terroir of its Gloucestershire vineyard, showcasing the skill of local winemakers and the potential of English still wine. The colder growing conditions lend a leaner, fresher style than traditional German Bacchus wines, preventing the fruit character from becoming overly sweet.
- Offers aromas of elderflower, Kiwi fruit, cut grass and subtle herbal notes
- The palate is dry, lively and aromatic, with crisp acidity that adds definition and refreshment
- Pale lime-green in colour with a zesty, lingering finish
Pair with light, herb-driven dishes such as goat's cheese salads, asparagus risotto, or grilled white fish. It also works well with Southeast Asian cuisine - think Thai green curry or lemongrass prawns - where its vibrant acidity and aromatic lift enhance spicy, fragrant flavours.
