Profile: Medium
Aksum Claro Toro & Double Corona earned a 90 point rating from Cigar Aficionado, while the Robusto and Corona Gorda earned a 92!
The Foundation Aksum Claro is a luxurious, medium-bodied cigar that blends ancient history with modern cigar craftsmanship. Created by master blender Nicholas Melillo, the Aksum Claro is part of the rebranded Tabernacle line, paying homage to the ancient African Kingdom of Aksum: one of the earliest civilizations known for its rich culture and trade in premium goods, including early forms of tobacco.
Wrapped in a golden-hued Ecuadorian Sumatra Claro wrapper, the Aksum Claro offers a more refined and nuanced take on the original Tabernacle blend. Beneath the wrapper lies a hearty Connecticut Broadleaf binder and a well-aged core of Nicaraguan fillers, delivering a balanced yet flavorful smoke with notes of cedar, cream, toasted almonds, citrus, and white pepper.
This cigar combines elegance with strength, making it perfect for those who appreciate complexity without overwhelming boldness.
