Nicholas Melillo and his Foundation Cigar Company deliver some of the most scrumptious, full-flavored sticks on the market today. The Aksum series is a prime example, offering rich taste and smooth character that has industry experts and cigar lovers alike swooning. Aksum cigars celebrate tales surrounding the Ark of the Covenant and the descendants of the ancient Aksumite Kingdom who are said to still guard the Ark in present-day Ethiopia. The result is a thrillingly rich and tasty adventure.
The Aksum Claro Robusto clocks in at a popular 5” x 50 size. The box-pressed Robusto is handmade at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez and features a hearty Nicaraguan Esteli and Jalapa filler blend held in place by a Connecticut Broadleaf binder. The exquisite tobacco mixture is topped by a mouthwatering Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper leaf.
The Aksum Claro Robusto keeps the senses riveted from start to finish with a balanced yet adventurous medium-to-full-bodied character. Earthy and creamy undercurrents form a satisfying core, as coffee, wood, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pepper flavors tantalize the palate with every puff. A hint of coconut teases along the way for a smooth, highly entertaining smoke.
Aksum Claro Robusto cigars are 93-rated gems that have all the hallmarks of Foundation Cigar’s best: rich taste, sophisticated character, with a Connecticut leaf at its heart. Treat yourself to a stellar cigar pairing and spark up an Aksum Claro Robusto with your favorite rum.
