Our FogBreak Grüner Veltliner captures the magic of misty mornings. Each sip of this wine is filled with freshness and vibrancy, like a bite of a green apple. Grüner Veltliner is known as Austria's national grape and feels most at home in cool climates. In California's Monterey County, vineyards are enveloped by chilly ocean fogs that lazily roll across the hillsides each morning. Come afternoon, the mist clears, allowing grapes to feel the warming glow of sunlight. This cycle repeats daily, creating perfect conditions for this Austrian grape variety to thrive. It can maintain its natural acidity during cool parts of the day, then ripens during warmer moments to develop bright fruit flavors. This is an exciting new varietal to try if you usually go for crisp white wines like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. Enjoy it well-chilled with light bites and clear skies.
