Introduction
La Palazzetta Brunello di Montalcino is a red wine from Italy, produced in the Tuscany region and the Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. appellation. The estate is a family owned and operated business run by the Fanti family. The winery's philosophy is centred on minimal intervention, with the entire estate certified organic, focusing on the quality and authenticity of the Sangiovese Grosso grape. Their vineyards are located near the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, known for its favourable microclimate.
Wine Description
The wine is 100% Sangiovese Grosso. It exhibits a beautiful, deep ruby red colour. The aromatic profile is complex and elegant, offering scents of ripe red fruit, cherry, plum, tobacco leaf, and exotic spice. Nuances of licorice, forest floor, and mint also emerge. It is a full bodied wine. The palate is fresh, powerful, and deeply structured, with concentrated fruit and earthy notes. The tannins are fine-grained and firm, providing the backbone for long ageing. Stylistically, it is a classic, pure, and savoury Brunello, showcasing the intense character of the grape. The wine is aged for 36 months in large Slavonian oak barrels (botti). The finish is long, dry, and persistent. The ABV is 14.5%. The optimal drinking window is from 2025 to 2045. The wine is organic.
