Produced in the Douro region of Portugal, Ferreira Dona Antonia Reserve Tawny is a benchmark Port wine that pays tribute to one of the industry's most legendary figures. The House of Ferreira was founded in 1751 and remains an iconic symbol of Portuguese winemaking, largely due to the visionary leadership of Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira in the 19th century. Known affectionately as 'Ferreirinha', she revolutionized viticulture in the Douro Valley through her entrepreneurial spirit and deep commitment to the region's people and land.
Wine Description
This reserve Port displays a beautiful red colour with intense tawny shades that reflect its slow maturation in oak casks. The bouquet is rich and aromatic, featuring notes of very ripe plum, apricot, and marmalade alongside delicate floral hints. On the palate, it is a full bodied and well balanced wine that develops complex flavours of spices and roasted nuts through oxidative aging. The experience concludes with an elegant and persistent finish that blends sweetness with a light, saline tang.
