Ettore Germano Barolo Cerretta is produced by the Germano family in Serralunga d'Alba, in the Barolo DOCG of Piedmont, Italy. The wine is 100% Nebbiolo from vineyards at about 350 to 400 meters above sea level, with south and south-east exposure, on soils of clay and calcareous limestone. Grapes are hand harvested, de-stemmed and lightly crushed, then fermented in vertical steel tanks with maceration of about 40 to 45 days, using daily pump overs and occasional délestage. After malolactic fermentation the wine is aged in medium-sized oak barrels of varying ages for 18 to 24 months depending on the vintage.
