Essencea Citric Acid 5LB is a food-grade, 100% pure citric acid powder sold in a resealable bulk pouch for versatile home and commercial uses.
Essencea’s 5-pound citric acid is an anhydrous, non-GMO powder designed for culinary, cleaning, and DIY applications. Packaged to preserve freshness, this bulk ingredient gives you concentrated, shelf-stable acidity without additives. Whether you’re canning, adjusting pH for recipes, descaling appliances, or making bath and beauty products, citric acid offers a compact and long-lasting option compared with liquids.
How can I use this citric acid in the kitchen?
Citric acid is a convenient powdered alternative to lemon juice or vinegar when you need precise acidity or no added flavor. It dissolves cleanly and is ideal for preserving, flavor balancing, and improving texture in many recipes.
- Preserving fruits and jams to prevent discoloration and maintain acidity.
- Adjusting pH in sauces, candies, and beverages for consistent flavor.
- Substituting for lemon or vinegar measurements in recipes where citric taste is preferred.
- Making homemade soda syrups and powdered drink mixes with controlled tartness.
Is this safe and how should I store it?
Essencea Citric Acid is labeled as a pure ingredient with no fillers; treat it like any concentrated food additive. Store the resealable pouch in a cool, dry, and dark place to keep the powder stable and free from clumping or moisture.
- Keep the pouch tightly sealed after each use to extend shelf life.
- Avoid exposure to heat and humidity to prevent caking.
- Use food-safe scoops or spoons to avoid contamination.
- Follow standard safety: keep out of reach of children and pets.
How does citric acid help with cleaning and appliances?
Citric acid acts as an effective descaling and mild chelating agent for kettles, coffee makers, and showerheads due to its acidity. It removes mineral buildup, brightens metal surfaces, and can be used as a component in homemade cleaning solutions without harsh chemicals.
- Dissolve in warm water to descale kettles and coffee machines safely.
- Use a paste for removing limescale from faucets and fixtures.
- Add to laundry for brighter whites and reduced mineral spotting.
- Combine with baking soda for targeted cleaning projects.
What are practical DIY and personal-care uses?
Many hobbyists and small producers use citric acid as an ingredient in bath fizzies, pH adjustments for cosmetics, and in water-based formulations where controlled acidity is required. Because it’s a powdered dry acid, it’s easy to measure and store compared with liquids.
- Ingredient for bath bombs to create effervescence when combined with baking soda.
- pH adjustment for lotions, creams, and cosmetic recipes that require anionic balance.
- Used in handcrafted cleaners, shampoos, and conditioners at small concentrations.
- Great for small-batch soap and craft recipes where exact measurements matter.
