The 18th Century estate at Plantation Versailles, then owned by the French family L’Amirault, was one of the smallest distilleries producing both uncoloured and golden rums. Although one of the smallest rum producers then, the distillery, situated on the west bank of the Demerara River. Was famous for its golden rums(marque REV, a reverse of VER for Versailles). Distilled in small batches on the Single Wooden Pot Still, these rums were aged for 12 years in oak barrels.
