Steve Saka’s record of success is unparalleled in the cigar industry, from his development of the most respected of Drew Estate’s cigars to his newest creations under his own Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust banner. And there is no better example of all of the passion and commitment to excellence that Saka pours into his cigars than the Umbagog Robusto Plus.
The Umbagog Robusto Plus is a gorgeous 5” x 52 stick with luscious Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos at its heart which are nestled beneath a savory Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper which was originally slated to adorn Saka’s Mi Querida series, but due to his desire for perfection was set aside to be used for these rich and affordable treasures.
The medium-to-full bodied Umbagog Robusto Plus envelopes the taste-buds in deeply textured pepper, cedar and spice flavors which are supported by delightful hints of dark chocolate and licorice throughout. The 50 minute or so excursion is capped off by a big and satisfying finale that will please even the heartiest of palates.
With a name that comes from one of Saka’s favorite lakes for his fishing getaways, the Umbagog series was created for the everyday cigar aficionado who wants to dispense with the glamor and glitz of other showy premium smokes and just get down to pure essence of natural cigar smoking bliss.
