Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Sobremesa Robusto | Steve Saka | 5 1/4" x 52
Sobremesa is the Spanish idiom for the leisurely time spent tableside after a meal, lingering in good company with conversation, drinks, and a fine cigar, and Steve Saka named his debut Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust blend after exactly that experience. Made at Joya de Nicaragua in Estelí, the Robusto features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over a Mexican Matacapan binder and a filler of four distinct Nicaraguan tobaccos including Condega, Pueblo Nuevo, and Estelí leaf, built with the same level of precision and intention Saka brought to every blend in his career.
A lush, creamy core loaded with notes of cedar, cocoa, and café is punctuated by a peppercorn retrohale and a delightfully sweet, lingering finish that makes this one of the most satisfying medium-strength smokes Steve Saka has ever produced. Approachable enough to enjoy any time of day, complex enough to hold the attention of a seasoned aficionado from first light to the last inch.
