Duellum Citrus And Spice Gin is an artisanal craft spirit produced in small batches by Duellum Gin in Jalisco, Mexico. Triple distilled in copper stills using a multi-grain base of barley, rye, and corn, this expression pairs Mexican-harvested botanicals with traditional gin roots. The spirit centers on sweet mandarin peel, bitter orange zest, and pink grapefruit, balanced by warm cardamom, cinnamon bark, allspice, and clove. The resulting profile offers a vibrant fusion of sun-ripened citrus, warming baking spices, and a crisp juniper backbone.
Food Pairing: Spicy Mexican cuisine, fish tacos, mole chicken, ceviche, aged manchego cheese, and dark chocolate desserts.
Tasting Notes: Crystal clear in appearance with a smooth, warming, and citrus-oily mouthfeel.
Nose: Vibrant and inviting up front, opening with candied orange peel, fresh grapefruit oils, and sweet mandarin, supported by warm cinnamon stick, cracked cardamom, and crisp resinous juniper.
Palate: Rich and multi-layered on the palate, featuring bright bittersweet citrus zest and juicy orange, balancing into warm allspice, earthy coriander, gentle clove heat, and piney juniper needle.
Finish: Long, warm, and lingering with notes of sweet citrus oils, lingering baking spice, and a crisp, peppery botanical closure.
Serve: Serve over ice topped with premium Indian or Mediterranean tonic water, garnished with a fresh orange wheel or a cinnamon stick, or build into a Spiced Paloma, Citrus Negroni, or Gin Mule.
