Among the El Tigre Dominicano lineup, the Corona Viva offers the most focused and expressive presentation of the blend. Handcrafted at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua, this elegant soft box-pressed vitola showcases an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper over a Connecticut Corojo H99 Hybrid binder and a carefully composed Dominican-forward blend featuring HVA and Criollo '98 tobaccos. The slimmer format places greater emphasis on the wrapper, allowing the blend's aromatic complexity and refined spice to shine with exceptional clarity.
From the opening draw, the Corona Viva reveals why Dominican tobacco has long been prized for its elegance rather than its strength. The Ecuador Sumatra wrapper contributes warmth, sweetness, and delicate spice, while the Dominican fillers develop a beautifully layered profile of cedar, espresso, earth, and white pepper with remarkable precision. Every transition feels crisp, balanced, and intentional, rewarding smokers who appreciate subtlety over sheer intensity.
For seasoned aficionados, the Corona Viva may be the most compelling vitola in the El Tigre Dominicano portfolio. It highlights the blend's complexity with exceptional focus while honoring the craftsmanship and tobacco pedigree that inspired Drew Estate to take the Undercrown line in such an exciting new direction.
