Door County Coffee & Tea Co. Pumpkin Spice Whole Bean (8 oz) is a medium-roast specialty Arabica coffee blended with cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg to deliver a balanced, autumn-inspired cup.
Enjoy a seasonal coffee crafted to evoke fall baking without compromising true coffee character. This 8-ounce bag contains 100% Specialty Arabica whole beans roasted to a medium level so the natural coffee notes remain prominent while warm pumpkin-spice aromatics come through. It’s designed for home grinders and manual or automatic brewing methods, giving you flexibility to tailor grind size and extraction to your preferred brewing routine.
What flavor profile should I expect from this pumpkin spice coffee?
You’ll taste a blend of traditional fall spices layered over a medium-roast coffee base. The roast keeps acidity and origin nuances present, while added cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg provide warm, familiar spice highlights without overpowering the bean’s natural qualities.
- Dominant notes: cinnamon warmth, subtle clove depth, and a hint of nutmeg
- Roast level: medium, preserving brightness and body balance
- Finish: smooth, spiced aftertaste that complements milk or black brews
How should I brew these whole beans for best results?
Grind just before brewing to capture peak aroma; grind size depends on your method. Use a finer grind for espresso-style machines and medium-fine for pour-over, or a coarser setting for French press. Adjust dose and water temperature to taste.
- Recommended grind: medium for drip, coarse for French press, fine for espresso
- Water temperature: 195–205°F (90–96°C) for optimal extraction
- Start ratio: 1:15–1:17 coffee to water, then tweak for strength
How long will freshness and flavor last after opening?
The 8 oz bag is ideal for seasonal use; whole beans stay freshest when protected from air, heat, light, and moisture. For best flavor, use within 2–4 weeks of opening and store in an airtight container at room temperature—avoid refrigeration or prolonged exposure to pantry heat.
- Unopened shelf life: several months when stored cool and dry
- After opening: consume within 2–4 weeks for peak aroma
- Storage tip: transfer to an opaque, airtight canister to preserve oils and aromas
What makes this a seasonal specialty and not a year-round offering?
This coffee uses a curated pumpkin-spice blend intended to evoke autumnal flavors linked to seasonal baking and festivities. The spices and marketing are timed to fall demand, making the roast a limited-time release that highlights seasonal interest and craft roasting choices.
- Seasonal spice blend emphasizes fall baking aromas
- Limited-time availability aligns with autumn demand
- Roaster selection aims to balance spice with the bean’s origin characteristics
