Domaine Jean-Jacques Girard Volnay Vieilles Vignes
This Volnay comes from the historic vineyards of the northern Cote de Beaune, tended by the Girard family for generations. Jean-Jacques and Agnes, alongside their sons Vincent and Francois, have developed the estate into one of Burgundy’s most respected properties. The new winery allows white and red wines to be vinified and aged separately, providing precise temperature control and careful elevage.
- Aromas of red cherries, rose petals, and subtle earthy undertones
- Palate is silky and refined, showing soft red berry fruit, gentle spice, and elegant structure
- Age-worthy yet approachable young, developing further complexity over ten years
This Burgundy wine pairs beautifully with roasted ham, game, creamy cheeses, tomato-based pasta, or braised rabbit.
