Introduction
From the United States, in Oregon’s renowned Willamette Valley, this Pinot Noir hails from the Dundee Hills AVA, a subregion celebrated for producing elegant and expressive wines. Domaine Drouhin was established in 1987 by the Drouhin family of Burgundy, France, who brought generations of winemaking expertise to Oregon. The estate is known for its dedication to crafting wines of finesse, balance, and complexity, guided by sustainable viticulture practices.
Wine Description
The vintage displays a luminous ruby hue. Aromas unfold with layers of rhubarb, dried violets, black tea, and plum, complemented by hints of raspberry, cranberry, and lightly roasted coffee beans. On the palate, it offers sour and black cherries, stone fruits, white pepper, earthy undertones, and subtle spice notes reminiscent of bergamot and cola. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins and bright acidity, the wine achieves a harmonious balance, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Food Pairing
Ideal alongside roast duck with cherry glaze, herb-crusted lamb, or wild mushroom risotto. Its freshness and nuanced flavours also complement cedar-planked salmon or creamy brie. This pairing highlights the wine’s depth and character.
