Domaine Baron Thenard Givry Rouge 1er Cru Bois Chevaux
This is a Premier Cru red Burgundy from Givry in the Cote Chalonnaise, crafted from Pinot Noir grown on limestone-rich slopes. The Bois Chevaux vineyard is known for producing wines with both structure and finesse, balancing ripe fruit with fresh acidity. The estate has a long history in Burgundy, with a focus on expressing individual vineyard sites. Grapes are carefully sorted and fermented to preserve purity, followed by ageing in French oak barrels to build depth and integration. The approach enhances texture while maintaining the lifted, elegant character typical of Givry Pinot Noir.
- The nose shows red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry with subtle spice and floral notes.
- The palate delivers bright red fruit, soft tannins and gentle oak with a fresh, balanced structure.
- The finish is refined and persistent with lingering berry fruit and a touch of spice.
Pair with roast chicken, duck or mushroom dishes to complement the wine's freshness and subtle complexity.
