The Teuchter Batch 1 is a 17 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky independently bottled by Decadent Drinks as the first release in its Teuchter series. Distilled in 2008 and fully matured in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry wood, it was bottled in 2025 at approximately 46% ABV. The long PX maturation gives the whisky a deeply sherried profile built around dark dried fruits, treacle, brown sugar, walnuts and warming winter spices. Decadent Drinks officially describes the series as a celebration of modern Highland malt designed for relaxed, approachable drinking.
Food Pairing: Aged cheddar, roasted walnuts, cured meats, fruit cake, sticky toffee pudding or dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Rich and heavily sherried with dried fruits, caramelized sugar, treacle and roasted nuts, balanced by savoury notes and warming spice.
Nose: Dates and other dark dried fruits with brown sugar, walnuts, cured-meat character and seasoned oak spice.
Palate: Caramelized sugar and rich treacle accompanied by roasted nuts and warming mulling spices.
Finish: Lingering dried fruit, malt loaf and sultana-like sweetness with gentle spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature. A few drops of water can be added to open up the dried-fruit, nut and spice characteristics.
