Decadent Drams Benrinnes 28 Year Old 1997 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is an independently bottled Speyside single malt from Benrinnes Distillery, selected and bottled by Decadent Drinks. Distilled in 1997 and matured for 28 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead, it is bottled at a natural cask strength of 52.4% ABV. Long maturation and assertive sherry-cask influence give this release a concentrated, full-bodied profile built around dark fruits, tobacco, warming spice and mature oak.
Food Pairing: Pair with dark chocolate, sticky date pudding, roasted nuts, mature hard cheeses, or slow-roasted beef.
Tasting Notes: Deep and richly sherried, with layers of dried and stewed fruits, dark chocolate, treacle, roasted nuts, tobacco, spice and mature oak.
Nose: Raisins, figs and dark fruit lead into dark chocolate, orange peel, old tobacco and warming baking spices.
Palate: Full-bodied and concentrated, with stewed fruits, treacle and toffee joined by roasted nuts, cinnamon, savoury spice and seasoned oak.
Finish: Long, warming and drying, leaving lingering dark fruit, sherry richness, spice, old oak and savoury complexity.
