Decadent Drams Ardmore 27 Year Old 1998 is a limited independent bottling of Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Ardmore Distillery. Distilled in 1998 and bottled in 2026 after 27 years of maturation, the whisky spent its first 23 years in refill wood before undergoing a four-year secondary maturation in a second-fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead. Bottled at 52.8% ABV with an outturn of only 236 bottles, it combines mature Ardmore peat with rich sherry influence and old-school Highland character.
Food Pairing: Pair with smoked duck, roast lamb, aged cheddar, charcuterie, roasted nuts or dark chocolate.
Tasting Notes: Mature and complex with gentle peat smoke, dark fruit, dried citrus and earthy malt layered with rich PX sweetness, polished oak and warming spice.
Nose: Soft peat smoke and waxy malt open into dried fruits, orange peel, old leather, toasted nuts and dark honey.
Palate: Rich and oily with earthy peat, dried fruit, dark chocolate and caramelized nuts, developing pepper, polished oak and PX sweetness.
Finish: Long, warming and gently smoky with lingering dried fruit, earthy peat, dark chocolate and mature oak.
