Deanston 12 Year Old Oloroso Cask Matured Whisky 2008
Crafted in the Highlands and matured exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, this limited edition single malt offers a bold yet refined drinking experience. Distilled in 2008 and bottled 12 years later at natural cask strength, this expression from Deanston highlights the full influence of sherry maturation. Only 13,227 bottles were produced and presented at a robust 52.7% ABV.
- Deanston 12 Year Old opens with a dry, nutty aroma, underscored by notes of walnut, toasted oak, and spice.
- The palate is rich with sweet honey, dark dried fruits, and warming clove.
- Hints of cinnamon and candied orange peel emerge mid-sip, adding complexity.
- The finish is long, gently spiced, and sherried, with lingering impressions of hazelnut and raisin.
This robust single malt is best paired with savoury tapas, Manchego cheese, or Iberico ham to complement its nutty, dry notes. It also shines alongside desserts like spiced fruit cake or dark chocolate torte.
