This red wine originates from Italy, specifically from the Barolo DOCG region in Piedmont. Founded in 1890, the Damilano winery is a historic family estate currently managed by the fourth generation, Paolo, Mario, and Guido Damilano. The Lecinquevigne bottling reflects a unique philosophy of blending Nebbiolo grapes from five distinct vineyards across the municipalities of Barolo, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, and Novello to create a harmonious expression of the terroir.
Wine Description
Damilano Barolo Lecinquevigne 2020 displays an intense ruby red colour with traditional orange reflections. The nose is rich and complex, offering an elegant bouquet of roses, violets, and ripe cherries layered with tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, and subtle balsamic hints of eucalyptus. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and well structured, featuring vibrant acidity and dense, silken tannins that provide excellent balance and freshness. The finish is long and persistent, marked by a savory mineral quality. This 100% Nebbiolo was aged for 24 months in large oak casks and has an ABV of 14.5%. While the winery employs sustainable practices, this wine is not certified organic. The optimal drinking window for this vintage is from 2025 through 2045.
