Dacapo is a specialized, boutique estate that operates under a winemaking philosophy deeply rooted in the preservation of rare, indigenous grape varieties and site-specific precision. Sourced entirely from the historic "Majoli" vineyard plot where the vines are nestled on sun-drenched, south-facing slopes rich in limestone and sand the estate focuses on low intervention to let the distinctive, highly aromatic character of Monferrato's local terroir shine through with absolute transparency.
Wine Description
The 2024 Dacapo 'Majoli' Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato presents a bright ruby-red appearance with brilliant purple highlights in the glass. Its sensory profile is incredibly fragrant and unmistakable, opening with an explosive, high-toned bouquet dominated by wild red roses, fresh violets, and ripe red cherries, seamlessly layered with complex undertones of wild strawberries, white pepper, and aromatic culinary herbs. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, racy, and light on its feet, showcasing a juicy core of red berry fruits and wild spices. It is characterized by its outstanding, mouthwatering acidity and a surprisingly gentle, soft tannin structure that keeps the wine incredibly approachable and fluid. The finish is clean, energetic, and persistent, concluding with a signature aromatic lift of floral notes and crushed stones.
This 100% Ruchè wine reached a well-balanced alcohol content (ABV) of 13.5%. Following a strict manual harvest, the grapes were fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to protect the pristine, delicate aromatics of the variety. To maintain its explosive fruit purity and crispness, the wine was aged entirely in stainless steel before being bottled, completely bypassing any wood contact. While the estate champions natural biodiversity and sustainable agricultural management across its plots, this bottling is not certified organic.
